tzimzum

ecstasy roots from the ancient greek ἐκ (ek, “out”)

and ἵστημι (hístēmi, “I stand”) because it requires you to

stand outside of your self. the hebraic tzimtzum צמצום

means a contraction of self to make space for Other,

which is shown through the impetus of Creation when

the Great Infinite Void recognizes that to be Nothing

means there must be Something to contrast against,

and thus creates the physical space of existence. This

comes from a stepping back. if you are sitting in a theatre,

and a person wishes to pass by, you must pull your legs

inwards to allow them through. this is tzimzum. And for

a brief moment, there are two truths existing in one space:

yours, and theirs. this is a metaphor, of course, because

what isn’t? In that moment, whose space is it? It is yours,

because you are within it. It is theirs, because they are

within it. You are both separate, and together; two and one.

this allowance of space is an act of balancing,

of relationship-ing, and it is within this push-and-pull

dynamic with which the Magic lives. you want magic?

pull your knees in, and see who passes through.
